morinobi
morinobi is located in Shimokitayama Village, the southernmost village in Nara Prefecture, with a population of approximately 800 people. Omine Okugakemichi, a World Heritage Site “Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range” of Shugendo (mountain asceticism), is located to the west. The forest coverage of the village is 93%. In this small village with steep mountains, beautiful rivers, and rich nature, morinobi’s mission is to “nurture the forest, protect the water, and build the future. In order to connect the forest to the next generation, morinobi aims to nurture the forest and the people involved with the forest, to communicate the value of the forest to as many people as possible, and to connect the forest and people.
